Privacy Policy

Last updated: 08.08.2026

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains what data we process when you use mylocaleyez.com, why, and what rights you have. Processing is carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

1. Controller

Michael Leipold
Kirchstraße 5, 64572 Büttelborn, Germany
Email: info@mylocaleyez.com

2. Hosting

Our website is hosted by Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Strato processes data on our behalf as a processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The servers are located in Germany.

3. Server log files

When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits. This includes: IP address, date and time of the request, the requested page/file, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system.

Purpose & legal basis: This data is necessary to deliver the website, ensure stability and security, and is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Log data is stored only for a limited period and then deleted.

4. Contact forms (video request & creator registration)

On our site you can submit a video request or register as a creator ("Eyez"). We process the data you enter into these forms:

  • Video request: name, email, location, what should be filmed, optional details, timeframe and budget.
  • Creator registration: name, email, location/radius, languages, equipment, availability and a short description.

This data is stored in a database on our server and additionally sent to us by email so we can process your request and, for requests, find a suitable creator (matching is done manually). If you respond to follow-up emails, that correspondence is documented together with your request.

Legal basis: processing for the purpose of carrying out pre-contractual measures and performing the (brokerage) service you requested (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR), and your consent given when submitting the form (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future by emailing us.

Retention: we keep this data for as long as needed to process your request and to fulfil statutory retention obligations (e.g. commercial/tax law). Afterwards it is deleted.

5. Email contact

If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide to handle your enquiry (Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

6. Cookies and local storage

We use only strictly necessary cookies that are required to operate the site:

  • Session cookie (PHPSESSID): maintains your session and protects forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). It is deleted when you close your browser.
  • Language preference: stored within the session so the site shows your chosen language.

In addition, we store one functional setting locally in your browser (via localStorage, not a cookie): your chosen light/dark view ("mle-theme"). This information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.

Legal basis: strictly necessary cookies and local storage of settings you actively choose are permitted under § 25 (2) TDDDG without separate consent; the underlying processing relies on our legitimate interest in a functional, secure website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Should we introduce optional services in the future, we will obtain your consent beforehand via our cookie banner.

7. Fonts

We host the fonts used on this site ("Inter" and "Space Grotesk") locally on our own server. No connection to Google servers is established and no data is transmitted to third parties when loading fonts.

8. Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell your data. Within the scope of brokering a video, we may share the details necessary to fulfil a request with the matched creator (or, for creators, with the requesting customer) — only to the extent required to carry out the requested service. Beyond that, data is only disclosed to processors (e.g. our hosting provider) bound by contract, or where we are legally obliged to do so.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR);
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR);
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR);
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR);
  • withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise your rights, contact us at info@mylocaleyez.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

10. Data security

This site uses TLS/SSL encryption (HTTPS) to protect the transmission of your data. Access to the administration area is password-protected.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to our service or to the legal situation. The current version always applies.
